Waterman Eye Care, Inc. was formed by Dr. Elliot Waterman in 2004. After working in a group medical practice in South County since 1986, he decided the time had come to bring individual personalized eye care to North Kingstown. Dr. Waterman’s relaxed, friendly attitude makes a visit to Waterman Eye Care an experience not found in many offices. “So many of my patients have commented on how personable and fun my office and staff are. I’m very fortunate to have the best staff around. I love what I do and I enjoy making my patients feel comfortable,” says Dr. Waterman.
Dr. Waterman is trained and licensed in ocular therapeutics and practices at the most comprehensive level of Primary Care Optometry allowed by state law, including glaucoma diagnosis and treatment, cataract diagnosis and post-op care. LASIK evaluation and co-management, Dry Eye treatment, ocular allergy treatment, retina examination for diseases such as diabetes and macular degeneration, and 24/7 emergency care. Dr. Waterman is also an advocate for children’s eye exams, considering the fact that 80% of what children learn is through vision. He is a participant in the AOA’s InfantSee program, which provides free vision assessments for infants 6-12 months old.
Waterman Eye Care has an optical shop with the latest frame styles and lens technology to help you see as clearly and comfortably as possible. Not only does Dr. Waterman determine if you need glasses, but he also fits the latest in contact lenses, including difficult-to-fit multifocal and astigmatism prescriptions.
Dr. Waterman has earned the American Optometric Associations’ Optometric Recognition Award, and is a past president of the Rhode Island Optometric Association.
